The organization has two special committees. which are as follows:
1. Preservation & Education: This committee was created, by the Board of Directors of M-WTCA, in 1992 to support the Mount Vernon Ladies Association of the Union, the guiding force in the continuing restoration and maintenance of George Washington's home in Virginia. M-WTCA members have donated funds for use in the needed restoration of the ceiling in the dining room of the Mansion in 1993, as well as numerous 18th. century (for display and educational purposes) and usable woodworking tools ( used during the reconstruction of the 16 sided barn which was dedicated on September 27, 1996 ). Since 1997, the M-WTCA Board of Directors has authorized support of a M-WTCA Intern at Mt. Vernon for a 10 week period each summer. For more information about this important project contact Phil Baker, Chairman of the Preservation & Education Committee.
2. We have a committee that is responsible
for MWTCA'S
home page and its contents, current and future. The committee
consists
of volunteers. We are always looking for
ideas that would improve our presentation and volunteers to
assist in making
that happen. Contact the
internet committee
with your ideas and or willingness to help.
