Books and Publications Produced by the Membership of M-WTCA |
Although tool collecting has existed for many decades, it did not really come into its own until the beginning of the 1990's. It was in this time period where interest in the tools of our heritage showed explosive growth , membership soared and so did the demand for information. Prior to this time books on the subject were few, much research had yet to be done. Information at this was limited to the observations of long time collectors, their devotion for collecting and study inspired them to document what they had learned from years of first hand observations and research. With the 90's came the information age, the ability to communicate quickly, distribute information, to document and print with untold ease and speed. The marriage of this technological marvel with the fervent interest of dedicated collectors begat an unbelievable array of books and publications on the many aspects of tools. A very large percentage of the books available today were written by members of M-WTCA, many of whom are considered to be the foremost knowledgeable and respected experts in their field. Following is a partial listing of publications authored by our members, many of which may be purchased directly from book dealers listed on our links page. There are a number of books that are out of print, they are included in listing because they are still considered to be important reference works and are on many collectors "Must Have" books list. They will periodically turn up at auctions or sales and will command respectable prices, they should not be overlooked .
